Little City Derby Brats - The first Flat Track Jr. Roller Derby team in Tennessee!!
The Little City Derby Brats provide young girls, ages 3-11, the opportunity to participate in a cutting edge, competitive sport. Girls do not need to have any background in athletics, just the desire to skate and learn. Brats develop desirable skills which translate into positive daily life. Important aptitudes including leadership, teamwork and communication are just a few skills our girls bring home from roller derby.
The Little City Derby Brats have a philosophy that is designed to instill positive ideals and help young girls realize their own potential. We strive to create a safe, fun and positive environment where girls can be athletic, increase their self confidence, obtain new friendships and be both self-empowered and self-expressive. This is a place where they learn teamwork, good values, discipline, interaction and stewardship through the competitive sport of full contact Flat Track Roller Derby.
Flat Track Roller Derby is quickly gaining popularity and recognition nationwide. There are over 200 adult women leagues in the United States and as many as 15 (and still growing) Junior Roller Derby Leagues cropping up around the country. Roller Derby is here to stay!
How Brat Derby is played
Junior Derby is played very similar to how the adult teams play. The main difference is that there is positional blocking only…NO HITTING!
